Gift of the Year

The GA, organiser of Gift of the Year, announced a new home for its annual awards, as well as exciting new categories for 2008. The UK gift and home market is worth an estimate £10 billion per year and Gift of the Year sets the trends in the market for the year ahead, offering retailers and consumers alike, a selection of the hottest gifts that will be in store ready for Christmas. The awards were chosen by a judging panel comprising many of the UK’s most influential buyers and members of the consumer press. The Gift of the Year accolade is increasingly important for all of the winning or short listed brands currently operating within the highly competitive giftware industry.

The 2008 winning and highly commended products were unveiled at the home and gift trade show Summer Fair held from 22-25 June at ExCeL in London. Chosen from the cream of the UK gift and home industry, award winners and short listed finalists will be revealed within an exciting new feature stand at the show.  With categories including Luxury, Made in the UK and Eco-friendly, the stand represented a house and garden and featured a fantastic range of products within their most applicable rooms; a living room, a dining room, an office, a bedroom, a bathroom and a garden. The stand featured innovative and contemporary styling that positioned the gifts in an exciting and three dimensional environment for both buyers and consumer press to see the gifts in situ.
