The Birmingham Assay Office is pleased to announce that it is uniquely opening its doors to the General Public and offering limited places on its popular Silver Collection Visits programme – on THREE DATES ONLY.

Usually these visits are only available to organised groups, so this is a unique opportunity to see the spectacular Silver Collection, the Library, and to hear the Curator, Dr. Sally Baggott talk about the history of hallmarking and The Birmingham Assay Office.

Visitors will be met with a warm welcome, including coffee and biscuits before the visit, and afterwards, in the Gift Shop, they will be able to buy gifts such as books and silver items all made in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and hallmarked at The Birmingham Assay Office.  There are lots of Gift ideas for that special someone.

The Silver Collection Visits will take place on Thursday 4th November, Tuesday 7th December, (morning Sold Out) and Thursday 9th December (limited availability) at The Birmingham Assay Office, with the option of a morning visit at 11.00am or an afternoon visit at 2.00pm. Places are limited to 25 for each of the visits, so early booking is advised.
